Some people put out dryer lint in Spring to help birds in building nests. How do you put it out and where? I've read that you can put out dryer lint for nest-building birds in Spring.

I can't find where I read it, however, and don't know what to put it in, where to put it, etc. I thought of the little holders for suet, but that wouldn't hold much. Also, we have outside cats and I need to consider that. Asked by hopeamerica 46 months ago Similar questions: people put dryer lint Spring help birds building nests Sports & Recreation > Birding.

I just remove it from the lint holder in the dryer and spread it on my lawn. I have seen many different types of birds pick it up. If you have a cat issue then I would put it in a suet holder and hang from a tree.

Another solution would be just to stuff it in a tube like bird feeder! Sources: personal opinion ragrug_lady's Recommendations Audubon Birds Nest Display .

There's not much to it! Most people will drape pieces of dryer lint across low tree branches or in places on the lawn. Since you have cats to worry about, skip the lawn and drape the lint over shrubs!

Birds will easily find the lint as they're scouting for nest materials and will pick them up. If the lint's in a feeder or box the birds might not know they can take it, or might not spot it when they're scouting. By the way, you can do the same thing with hair trimmings, too!.

1 forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/crafts/... have also put dryer lint outside in the spring for the birds, but saw this "forum" today, and thought of this question. I guess it makes a point I never thought of before. I think dog hair and horse hair, etc would still be ok.

But I am going to think about this for a while.

" "Is it true that birds will use dryer lint in their nests?" "do birds make nests in fruit trees.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
