Soulless television ghouls: where the heck is my football game?

I must admit, I’m still in shock. This is Texas. San Antonio and Austin, even though heavily populated by some truly wacky left-wingers, are still part of Texas.

I expect residents of those cities (with the possible exception of their city councils — which should be tarred and feathered and deported across the Rio Grande) to act like Texans, respect our culture and venerate our institutions, even if they do swill latte with their vegetarian repasts. The National Sport of Texas is football. Not soccer: football.

The game is holy. Texas has three professional football teams, two of which play in the National Football League. (Some folks might dispute whether or not the Texas Longhorns really count as “professional”, but that’s another column.) Texas’ two NFL teams both played pre-season games Saturday.

Recognizing the fact that pre-season games don’t count in the final standings, it’s still considered proper Texas etiquette to scream at the TV during pre-season games just the same as ... more.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
