I know exactly what you mean! You love the ideas or people you've invented in your head but can't find time or energy to write them down. So you need self-esteem and the ability to sit down and actually write what you're thinking.... Okay, so I don't know if this'll help, but read.
Reading other authors' work can help you to develop your own. Next: try starting small. Write a short story--whether it's a page or twenty pages--and finish it!
Edit it, look it over, be DONE with it, be proud of it. That's my advice for self esteem. When you've finished something, trust me, it's easier to finish other things.
You can just think 'I can do this, I've done it before.' As for sitting down to write, make sure you have the idea in your head, you really like it, and you know where it's going. If you don't you might be able to start but it'll go nowhere. And the beginning?
Well, if you don't know how to start, don't start at the beginning. Write whatever you really feel like writing and work off of that. Write a scene, a description, even just notes!
Something to give you an idea of how things will go. Yeah, I know it's easy to say 'just write' and not so easy to do... but really, if you're worried about how it'll turn out, don't think about that. Think about your characters and your storyline and how THEY will be and think.
Think from their standpoint, rather than that of someone judging you. If you get into the story a lot like that it can help. Lastly, talking to someone to develop ideas or even just writing down random thoughts can help you to be ready to write.
If you think you like something but aren't sure about it don't just throw it away... keep it, and come back later to look at it. Maybe something will occur to you, inspiration will dawn. And if not, you've probably got others.
So, overall, start small and just keep at it. Read to find out about other styles and maybe something will inspire you! And you don't have to write all the time, or even most or some of the time.
Only when you want to. So, yeah, hope that helped a little. Hope it wasn't just rambling!
And good luck (.
Writers write because they cannot allow the characters that inhabit them to suffocate them." ---Elie Wiesel *You noted that your characters are special to you. It seems to me that your plot isn't interesting enough for you to go on. Did you plan out your story beforehand?
Going with the flow is difficult and it could possibly put a stop to your writing marathon. I suggest (even if it's just for fun) that you write a story with a different story line and plot(whether it is short or long) with the same characters. If you don't write more about them, then how will you ever get comfortable with them?
Write, write, write---even if it's just for practice or fun. Those little practices could motivate you, for sure. You can build up your self-esteem by going on writing websites and getting positive feedback.
Reviews always make a writer feel good inside---they're helpful, too. Good luck and cheers!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
