My alarm clock was always set for 6:30 AM on workdays. At approximately 6:29 AM my cat Cosmos would jump up on the nightstand and position himself next to the alarm clock. S body and the table would vibrate with the tension.
Just seconds before the alarm rang Cosmos would launch himself into the air and land on my head; beating the clock by a few seconds every time. At 15 pounds he was no lightweight so I trained myself to wake up and bury my head under the covers when it was time for my Alarm Cat to go off. It never failed to put a smile on my face and get my day off to a good start.
Oh, and on weekends when the clock wasn't set Cosmos slept in. ;-).
Well, I was restless and sleeping downstairs on a futon (which I love) so I wouldn't disturb my husband. My 2 elderly cats also like the futon. It's a slumber party!
Unfortunately, one of my two Sulcata tortoises decided to climb in with us the other day. Timmy is 7 years old and weighs about 45 pounds. Guess he felt left out.
Well, we ALL woke up in a big fat hurry! Tails got stepped on, I suffered a mild puncture wound to the toe, and instead of being dismayed, I could swear that Timmy kind of enjoyed the mayhem! Look at that face.
What do YOU think? (The cat was not amused. ).
One of our cats ( we have four ) likes to bring us presents - you know the sort of thing, a bit of a grasshopper, the leg of a mouse, a dried up lizard - that sort of thing. I know she thinks its sweet but when you wake up because you feel something 'wet' on your pillowcase, its not sweet! I woke up to find the hind quarters of a half chewed mouse next to my face!
Oh it was gross! They smell bad when they are half chewed up like that.... she also likes to eat your hair while you sleep and you wake up with wet strands all over the pillow, I know, its a sign of affection but oh! Yuk!
.Well we own three cats, all female, and each one devised their own way of waking us up when they want something. But its my long haired cat who has the funniest way of waking us up. See we are used to the cats running over us, pouncing on us, and sitting on us.. so she had to find a new way to make sure we got the message to wake up.
I think she learned it from my husbands daily morning showers * Chuckles*. She likes to climb up on one of us, sit on our chest and lean over in our face and sneeze, as big and wet as she can make it.. and then when we open our eyes and make the ever popular " eeeewwwww" from the cats big sneeze she meows at us as if to say " Good Morning! " We always wind up laughing at the cat waking us up like that by the end of the day each day.
My young bunny is 5 years old now. In the first couple of years he used to love to jump up on the bed while we were asleep, or even when we weren't. I used to hide under the covers when I heard and felt him jump up, and he would make his way up the bed to my head and try desperately to burrow under the covers to get to me.
I would hang on tightly to the blankets over my head, and he would scratch away trying to reach me. Ultimately he would end up licking my head when he found that the blankets didn't quite cover me up. He went through a phase back then of waking me up in the mornings, usually around 9.00 A.M., by doing just what I have described above. It amazed me, as I don't know how he could have known it to be about the same time every day, but he was pretty regular with it.
Nowadays he doesn't do that, but he does still go to bed in our room when he realises that I am going, and he always welcomes me home when I come back from work. He also still loves nothing better than lying on my lap or across my feet when I'm watching T.V.!
Well, I have five month and a half old kittens and they all like to climb up on my bed and gang up on my feet in the middle of the night. They drive me insane. Oh and the other night as I was about to doze off, I heard some very angry growling and crunching noises but couldn't be bothered to get up.
Turns out one of the kittens was eating and getting very angry when one of the others would try to eat from the same dish.
This isn't really funny, it's kinda mean, actually, but I had a cat who decided to dance on my head about 3 am every morning. I'd put her off the bed and she'd be right back. So one morning, I got so mad I flung the poor thing.
Luckily she hit the woven wicker shelf at the foot of the bed and wasn't hurt, but she never did wake me up again.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
