The "Found New Hardware" Wizard appears when I boot up the computer?

The "Found New Hardware" Wizard appears when I boot up the computer... I allows Windows to connect to windows update, but windows can't identify the hardware. It searches and has a big yellow? And says "unknown device."

Then says "cannot install this hardware, click back if you have the disk. I'm pretty sure this is somehow related to my wireless NIC. I recently had to uninstall/reinstall it's drivers due to some issues I was experiencing.

I believe this was the case when I originally installed the NIC too. I got the NIC working fine, but Windows thinks there's more hardware that needs to be installed. I can tell windows to ignore it, although I would like to know what exactly it is groping about.

How can I find out more info about the device windows XP is wanting me to install? Asked by dwdrums 41 months ago Similar questions: Found Hardware Wizard appears boot computer Computers > Software.

Try to insert the CD installer of your NIC. Your system may just remind you that there is new device when it boots. Sometimes, it's normal that your OS will detect every time you boot your computer. It will really detect and tell you there's new device and you just need it to load and you can ignore that.

Or maybe you are using a USB mouse or phone perhaps or any disc you have inserted, please check also. Or your PC/web camera. I don't think you will need to fuss over that much.

Just ignore it. Sources: OWN OPINION..

Look at the details tab In the device manager, right click on the troublesome device, click properties. Then click on the Details tab and it will display the vendor information. Just google the first part of it.

VEN_8086 is Intel (usually an Intel network card or integrated graphics), for example, and the next part DEV_#### should tell you more about it. It might not be able to install the correct drivers, but it should be able to tell you what it is so you can find them yourself. Just Google the VEN and DEV numbers and you should be good to go..

1 I have seen this before with a peripheral. I think it was a sound card, not sure, but I know that it would go away when I unplugged it, and came back when I plugged it back in, and no amount of twaddling with the drivers would make the yellow triangle go away. Since it didn't affect the way the computer worked, I let it go.

If you suspect the NIC, uninstall it, remove it from the system, boot clean, and see if Mr. Bang is gone. If he is, try getting some updated drivers for the NIC and reinstall it.

3 IchtheosaurusRex:I suspected it was the NIC because the issue came back after I did uninstall/reinstall it. This was in my description.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
