The Situation Room"........in the White House, it's real: decisions made, actions taken. But on television........ I just think it's funny. Wolf Blitzer can report on topics but can't do anything about them.

I just think it's pompous and presumptuous to borrow the name of such a serious room for reporting on serious and not-so-serious topics, with some legitimate reporting and some spin reporting. Why would he or the producers of his show use The Situation Room as the title of the show? Is there an Oval Office somewhere off the set?

Yes, silly yes, it's very silly. Wolf is such a hair-farming dope. Wolf has this deadpan but wailing delivery whereby everything is a crisis but it all sounds boring.

He sounds like he has absolutely no emotional grasp or involvement in what he's reading. "Weel, now coming into the situation rooim, I've just been handed this, the world will blow up in twenty seconds. Let's hear what Ari Velshi has to think about this".. That and the Internet dame who carefully point out that there is blather out there on the Internet, here is one of five hundred million pages of it, which you cannot read on your TV, so she will describe it a little bit, but not enough to be interesting or useful.

And I don't know why they have a bunch of large-screen monitors in back, all adjusted to mismatching brightness and contrast levels. You'd think it would be cheaper and better to just have a blue screen with a nice even image composited in.

1 CNN has a Men's Room too...just like the White House. I don't think they let Wolf use it though.

3 It is a place to feed all the communications lines and can either be for command and control or for reporting. Just like most television stations have control rooms. The term is able to describe more than just a command center.

4 There was a Playboy cartoon done when the tiny (by their standards) television camera was first used at political conventions. It showed a reporter with camera on chest (hanging down from a strap) leaving the rest room. The person rusing up said "You left your camera on!" .

Book, title was "The Situation Room" and was written by real criminal psychoanalyst, fiction but based on real.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
