The United States count for military personnel killed in the Iraq war is now 3155. When do we say enough is ENOUGH? American sons and daughters, husbands and wives, loved ones gone.
How many more have come home missing arms and legs or physically/mentally damaged for life? It makes me sick, how do you feel about it? I say ENOUGH!

Amen I have to agree with that. I know I'm not American myself, and those are not "my" people, but it angers me just as much. This war was such a wrong idea to begin with, and it goes on just because of Bush's ego.
He knows that quitting now will be admitting a mistake, and a political disaster for his party. I'm not so sure if he even cares about the lost lives any more. He has to send them back now.
I don't know how many more will die before a Democrat will take over, but even one life is to many to lose for no cause. If any troops read this, take care! .
If your argument is that the number of deaths is important in the decision, then I say we ignore Iraq and have a large social movement regarding deaths due to medical errors. The minimal number of deaths last year due to medical error is 28,000. Some more-inclusive estimates go as high as 90,000.
Part of the issue with the general social distaste for the military action currently is that it's very visible. It's in the news frequently, maybe daily, depending on your news source. The other problem with Iraq right now is that presidential candidates are being very aggressive in their positioning for 2008.
The side effect is that they highlight the issues central to their platform, which includes either supporting or, more likely, condemning, the Iraq action. The problem with medical error reporting is that it's reported by the people who make the errors. It's to their benefit to be quiet about it both due to the potential for lawsuits and also to preserve their professional standing, whether they're doctors, nurses, or some other form of medical practitioner. Just some thoughts.
I worked on the design of a medical error-limiting technology system. I came across those numbers and issues during my initial study. Sources: personal study .
IT's In The Way You Look At It As a former Marine Medic and a VietNam Vet. I've seen it all. In the history of warfare...three thousand lives is a drop in a bucket.
Although one life is too much to bear. But,the American people have very little stomach for things that don't end quickly and at any cost. If you look at it in another way.
The American lives lost in Iraq equal the same amount lost in the Twin Towers. The blame lies in lies told to the American people. Lies told about the preparedness of the American Military.
Inept planning. And inept execution. And Preschool tactics on the "Rules Of Engagement".
Now my two nephews are on their second tour of Iraq. I'm sure they have better things top do but,at this moment in time there's no way out of this sinkhole, unless we create a bigger one. And our so called "Allies" want to stick it to us.
Like I always said. We should of let tler have France .
You have a choice, .... .... continue until all Islamic fanatics are definitively under control, or be muslim, living under Sharia law. You well not like it, you may not believe it, especially as part of the credo of these fanatics is it is alright, good even, to lie to anyone who they regard as infidels (non-muslims). There is a further problem for Westerners is that their news information system is heavily biased against the current political status quo; the vast majority of newspapers and tv stations are left-wing and prefer spreading lies on the actual situation in the Middle East and elsewhere, if it will make it look as if the Coalition of the Willing is failing.
The actual purpose of the islamic nuts is to overrun and subjugate our civilisation to their violent, sadistic, repressive way of life. I would rather our peoples had the guts to stand up, fight and die if necessary, rather than live in terror. I agree. We went into Iraq under false pretenses. We got rid of Saddam.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
