Hardly. I don't think they hired a new teacher or built a new school or turned away students to accommodate him/her. I say GO GIRL/GUY!
You're never too old to reach your goals. And for that, I will gladly foot my portion of the bill.
Everyone have the righr to know more and study. Although he/she is 88 I don´t know how many years will he/she lives more. Probably some thousands of children or more in all the world will die before him/her, so age is not problem. To that 88 years old pupil all my consideration and admiration to have the will of study.
Congratulations.
I seriously do not think its a waste of resources. It does not matter how old or young you are. The point is: they "are" learning.
If more people in the world would want to learn and would try to learn as much, perhaps the world would be better off.
Fulfilling dreams come at any age. I want to complete my education one day....Thank God we can do what honors us......I say follow your dreams. Let age stay in the mind of those who give up........enjoying the journey...peace.
Learning is a never ending process - and if someone chooses, after living so much of their life already, to continue to enrich themselves and others, then more power to them. Remember, each student is also a teacher in their own right - perhaps the class would be enriched above and beyond other classes for having that 88 year old student in the class. Think of the historical, cultural, social resource sitting in that room - all for free!
If you have any sense you know that you can learn at any age and you should use the brain that god gave you no matter how old you are. I learn something new every day!
What an asinine question! Is it wasting resources to teach youngsters who are only in school because they are mandated to be there? Are we wasting resources for prisoners who are living out life sentences?
Are we wasting resources for seriously handicapped students who need a full-time aide? But age? What does that have do with wasting resources?Geez...

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
