Algae or mold, these should be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. Wash it with soap and water then sanitize it with hot water and vinegar. If it bothers you to drink from it (i'd feel the same way) maybe you should buy a new one.

answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=200...Another" rel="nofollow">answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=200... suggestion is to keep the jugs out of sunlight to prevent bacteria growing. Sources: answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=200... .

Don't drink the water until you clean away the algae. Don't drink the water until you clean away the algae. It is probably not healthy to ingest any of that.

I'm assuming the 5-gallon water jugs are permanent structures in your house. Otherwise, you could throw them away and replace them with fresh, new jugs. Since they are permanent, though, you need to empty the jugs and clean it thoroughly.

You might consider using a strong cleaning agent, such as CLR, to really dissolve away the algae. After you have cleaned and rinsed it, you can fill it back up with water and begin to drink from it again. Sources: It is my opinion..

Hmmm, it looks like they're moss. As I have observed, it happens because you do not do regular cleaning to your water jugs. I don't think it's harmful but for safety, you should clean them up esp.

If you're drinking the water contained in it. Do you like to drink the water that comes from that water jug? Our drinking water should be safe always although some say that the green formation makes your water cold.

I'm just doubtful but if you have been drinking it and you didn't feel anything bad then you can go ahead maybe. It's up to you. Sources: My personal opinion .

2 Use hydrogen peroxide, 3%, the stuff you buy in the first aid section of the drugstore for scrapes and cuts. It's almost a powerful as chlorine bleach, but it's not toxic. Pour it in full strength and let it do its thing.

If the green stuff doesn't budge, it's time for new water jugs.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
