Death is simply the cessation of life. All bodily functions cease and the physical body starts to decompose. Because death is something we cannot visualise we invent things like an afterlife, Heaven or whatever, because we cannot conceive that on death we also cease having conciousness.
It is also a comfort to think that the spirit or soul has a life of it s own and continues to exist after the physical body dies. In reality there is no evidence of this and although people claim to have seen ghosts or have ghostly experience, again, there is no evidence of the existence of spirits . The churches have used the afterlife as an attraction for hundreds of years to evidence the, supposed, existence of a god or place where spirits go after death.
Valhalla, the Ellysian Fields, Heaven, and so on, are examples of the fictitious places we are supposed to go to after death.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
