This is for the ladies. Do you wish elegant hats for weddings and the like would make a comeback? I have always thought elegant hats compliment a beautiful suit or a romantic dress.

I think they top off an elegant outfit. I think many people love watching the Kentucky Derby for that reason. All the women look so lovely and they take special care in finding just the right hat to compliment the outfit.

I totally do! I think that women in general at special functions would look so much more pulled together if they had on a great hat to do with the great dress or suit. If you don't know this you might be surprised.

Black women do wear fancy hats to church on Sundays and to weddings, etc. It is often possible to find great hats if you go to shop in those areas of town. I also love to go to tea and we do wear hats to tea. It’s part of the event of doing it. We all have tea dresses and hats with gloves.

We yearn for a different era when women could really go all out being feminine. As to the gloves, now that I’m getting older and spots are starting to appear on the backs of my hands I wish I had made a habit of wearing gloves when I was younger. Hats to protect the face and gloves to protect the hands. Women did have a reason for doing those things.

Now, I spend more time at the dermatologist getting them removed! I do wish I had worn gloves. -layyla-'s Recommendations WHAT IS IT ABOUT HATS?

OH, YES! I think we have become all too casual in dress for certain occasions. Big lovely hats and lovely flowing gowns should also be the dress for attendees ... I love to feel as feminine and beautiful as the bride and her party --- nothing so spectacular as to take away from them, but a cotton dress for summer and maybe a knit dress for winter. It is just so exciting to go through getting ready, finding the right outfit, maybe a manicure and a massage, a bubble bath, getting your hair done.

Donning some sparkly jewelry and shoes. Yeah! I really wish for that, a day to spend like a character in a fairy tale story.

Yes, yes, yes ... and all the rest. I absolutely love wearing hats - ornamental or practical - and I really lament the general casualnessness of clothes even for 'posh' occasions. I sometimes wonder why, when there's so much more money about than when I was young, people choose to go around in sloppy horrors.

I even went to a funeral recently in which the son's idea of mourning was to wear his black jeans. So I say: stuff it. I won't leave the house without gloves.

On a suit, or a plain dress, I like to wear a brooch (whatever happened to them, by the way? ). Other people can go to the opera in leggings if they want to, but I want my man to have heads turned in his direction.PS: I was met off a plane in Cape Town by a complete stranger who told me that my friend had said that I'd be wearing the brightest colours on the plane.

He was right, too! .

Why not! I like wearing hats anyway, so I think if hats really came back that would be wonderful! I can't see myself wearing the big huge hats on an everyday basis, but cute little pill box hats and the ones made famous by the french are pretty stylish!

I say "Hats off! " Sources: me and me only! .

Sorry, no! At least not for ME! I don't think I look right in a hat!

My hair, my headshape--I'm not sure what it is but I've never been one for wearing a hat. Now, I do like to see others wearing them, like at Prince Charles' wedding not too long ago and at races. But that's almost like playing "dress up" for those kinds of things, and not too many of us get invited to Prince's weddings or sit in the "fancy" section at the horsetrack!

LOL! It would be fun to play dress up occasionally, but I would hate to have to do it on a regular basis! Poppet!'s Recommendations Pink Live Fast Womens Hats (One Size FITS MOST) Maybe one like this....! .

How can I find it?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
