I think you are going to have to pay off the lien. Since the title is in both names, it is technically now in the name of the estate. The administrator of the estate is duty bound by LAW to settle the estate.

This means paying off all the debts. This is how you clear title. So the car will go to you, 100% after the lien is removed and it clears title.

So find out who the executor or administrator is and show them the title. Tell them you want the car. You may have to buy the estate's share of the car.

Assuming you want to do that, you would negotiate with the executor a purchase price. Determine the amount of the lean. Then you can either pay the estate and have them payoff the lien or pay it off yourself as part of the settlement.
