Today anyone that wants a college education can get one. There are loans, scholarships, co-op plans, and minority help. Are these plans equally available to native Americans and African Americans?
How affective have these plans been in seeing that these two groups achieve a college degree? Asked by NormanL 19 months ago Similar questions: Today college education loans scholarships co op plans minority help Business > Financial Services.

2 They're available to anyone who wants to apply for them. With regards to scholarships - there are countless scholarships that go unclaimed every year because the so-called "Counsellors" don't have sense enough to have the kids contact the appropriate department that is awarding the scholarship. In our department at the university, we have something like 16 different ones - this year we had about 5 people apply and they all got one - even one student who didn't quite meet the criteria - if they went through the trouble of applying, they got one.
But of course, the "Counsellors" didn't tell them about the scholarships either - they found out about them on their own. Sad.

3 There are tons of scholarships available for anyone who wants to apply and there are also many more that are aimed at "minorities". Frankly, I believe that the one group that kind of gets left out in the cold when it comes to scholarship opportunity is white males. There are tons of scholarships out there for which one must be of a certain racial background and several more aimed at women.
However, if someone were to create a scholarship that is limited to white males there would be people crawling out of the woodwork to scream racism.

4 I'm not so sure that everyone who wants a college education can get one, no matter what your race--at least without going into enormous debt. I'm sure many are put off by the idea that in 4 years that might be $100,000 in debt. What an incredible weight to be on your shoulders when you are starting out in life.
But, what option are you given--to advance currently, you need that degree--and it's getting more and more that a bachelor's isn't enough. I would agree with YoBob about there being a lot of grants and scholarships available for specific minorities. Where I notice it lacking especially is for low to middle income somewhat rural kids--not country, but in a small town with few industries or businesses that pass out special scholarships. In big cities there are so many more opportunities than for kids out in the sticks!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
