Actually, he said, ban them until we figure this thing out. It wasn't permanent. All it was was a break until we know what we're dealing with and how to deal with it.
Why is that such a hard thing to comprehend. Sounds pretty bloody responsible to me. If we had a thousand Ethiopians fleeing to the U.S. knowing that some had been exposed to Ebola, would we just open the door and say 'come on in'?
No. First, we'd figure out what was going on, how to handle the situation, determine who did and did not have the disease and then we would control the process. Government's responsibility is to the American people, not the to the refugees and it is government's responsibility to handle the situation responsibly rather than just opening up the door and exposing the nation to a thousand infected refugees.
The experience in Europe is that the sort of islamophobic hatred Trump is stirring up contributes to the radicalization of young Muslims like the citizens of Paris and Brussels innvolved in the Charlie Hebdo and recent Paris attacks. It also makes it less likely the Muslim immigrant communities will provide the tip-offs that are vital to the police and security agencies in the fight against terrorism. That's why the Pentagon has warned that Trump's anti-Muslim rhetoric undermines America's national security.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
