Ultimate edition office 2007, amount of installations I recently purchased office 2007 ultimate edition, and I found out that you can have it installed on 3 home computers. I have it installed on my desktop, and two laptops. I recently purchased an Hp mini net book so i'm going to sell off one of my laptops.

If uninstall office 2007 on that laptop, can I install office on my new laptop? Or will that 3rd installation be permanently used up by the old laptop even if uninstall it? Number of Installations I think it will. Do be sure to uninstall it from your laptop before you sell it. My understanding is the main difference between business editions and home editions is that the licensing companies want home and student users to be able to purchase and enjoy the products at home and for educational purposes; and the business users, well, they're using the product to help them make money every day.So, the intent of use is different.

That's the main reason there's a price break for student/home use and business/ commercial use. Sometimes the products are tweaked a bit to help the business purchaser think it's a more premium version but many times that's not the case. The way they make certain that businesses have a valid license for every computer they're running a product on is that they do these surprise IT audits of companies.

So, if a law firm, for example, has some back-up CPUs in their IT room, I think they either have to have fully licensed copies of Microsoft products on them OR not have the product on them at all. That's the reason that IT can't just pop over with another unit when somebody's takes a nosedive. As you are aware, purchasing those licensed copies even for home use isn't inexpensive. It's really costly for businesses to have one license per up and running unit and per every unit they have in storage with a current copy of the product.

So, to help home users and student users have access to a product, they limit the number of computers you can put it on to help us and help them. Helps us by making it available, helps them by saying "we're not putting this out there for regular commercial use. " And, since the experience I described in the paragraph above is a few years old, it is possible that Microsoft and other companies have developed some kind of tracking on use of a licensing code through the internet, like a massive registry database that stores the number of times a code is used in a given period of time.

Something like that would have to be quite complicated, and the trigger on their database would have to signal installation/uninstallation only and not merely use of the product. I think something like that would be very sophisticated. I do not think they can make it to limit the number of times it can be installed, either - otherwise if you had a problem running their product and needed to reinstall, they'd have to provide some kind of support at little to no cost to the consumer or people would catch on and stop buying it at all.

I think you'll do okay but I would definitely do the moral and ethical thing and uninstall it from the laptop before you sell it, as planned. If you're really fearful, you can always call Microsoft support. You may still be within the period of time they permit for low to no-cost telephone support (if they still offer that).

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
