Want to take a trip back to your teens for a moment? What were the trends and slang terms of back in your day?

Me:Trends: Spraying aerosol in brown bags to inhale ( YIKES!), coloring hair with Kool-Aide, dudes wearing their shorts or pants down a bit to show draws/underwear, babydoll dresses ( I had one, sadly, no longer have it! **sniff** **sniff**)Slang: Homeboy and homegirl/homey, knocking the boots ( um, the "act"), kick it, kicking it ( hang out) Fitty ( fifty), "Don't leave me hanging", to name a few. These were my high school days.My fave trend ( no offense to anyone) was back in those days, a lot of teen females took pride in abstinence.

Oh, Rainbow..it was a long time ago: "Far out", uttered repeatedly after several tokes from a joint "Bummer", when the joint was gone "straight", a person who didn’t get loaded "the man", cops Didn't wear bras, wore long flowing dresses, giant-legged bellbottoms cut 5 inches below our navels, flowers anywhere we could put them, hair down to our butts, (both men and women), played guitar even when we only knew 4 chords, protested the Viet Nam war, sit-ins, civil rights marches.. I can’t remember more than that right now....all that pot probably fried a few brain cells, even though it’s been several decades. Gads, I’m old. Thanks for the memory!.

You live in a pad if you didn't live at a commune where certain illegal substances (gasp! ) were taken on a regular basis to expand your mind....LSD, magic mushrooms, marijuanaMusic was - gasp! - understandable - as in you could actually understand the words and the musicians actually created their own music in the studio as opposed to someone standing there moving a record back and forth on a turntable (whatever that stupidity is called).

And I still don't know what a homey....homeboy.....or any of that gangbanger talk means!

Rainbow_76 replied to post #1: 3 homey/homeboy means friend/buddy/pal. Homegirl means the same thing.

The Mexican gangs around here are always going on about " he was my homey..." That's when they get caught by the cops, of course and say something in front of the tv news crews.

Fun Question of the Day.......If you could go back to any moment in history, where would you go?....

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
