We have a lot of trouble with bees and ants infesting our hummingbird feeder. I recently came up with a solution I'd like to share with you. The last time I refilled the feeder, I wrapped the handle with a small strip I cut from a dryer sheet.

3 rhine, I think it's the scent from the dryer sheet that repells the pests. I've seen it recommended to put dryer sheets in the closets of a motor home to keep pests out. They seem to work most any where you put them.Maggo.

I don't about it being elegant. It's almost invisible. In fact I went outside today to be sure it was still there because I couldn't see it from the kitchen window.

I would worry that the poison in a pest strip might hurt the hummers.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
