Wearing jerseys of NON-Hockey teams?

Hockey sweaters in public are ok, in fact, great, in my opinion Eh, you better make sure your sweater doesn't "swallow" your shorts Quite frankly, I think personalized uniforms with your name on them (or your favorite player's nickname) are gay. I don't understand what the fascination with them is, whether you want to feel like you're part of the team or think people care that, "Oh look, cool, that guy must have HIS name on a jersey. Wowwww".

I just don't get it. There's no "unwritten rule" against it though, do whatever floats your boat, I just find them obnoxious. EXCEPTION: If you're a little kid Oh my Lord I think that's terrible.

I see people with Lemieux winter classic sweaters or Crosby in 90's black and gold jerseys and they're just stupid. I always found throwback jerseys with throwback players impressive, like random Johan Hedberg or Darius Kasparaitis sweaters mixed in a crowd of Malkins, Crosbys, and Fleurys. Those are awesome.

But old players on new jerseys/new players on old jerseys I think are terrible. There SHOULD be an unwritten rule against that. Nah.

I mean, I personally wouldn't wear it, because I hate said particular player. But if some guy in front of me had a hated ex-player's jersey on I wouldn't say anything.

No worries. Not my thing for the most part but as long as it fits...you're sweet. Shorts?

I will throw on a hockey sweater after the gym (an old beer league sweater that's comfy); I will wear it for that and if I'm doing yardwork (mowing my lawn, pruning a tree, etc). NHL/name? Unless you are an NHLer or played professionally this is getting a bit silly (however, one of the teams in our beer/adult mens league bought the old Philly black sweaters (that they don't wear anymore) and had them numbered/named...knowing the guys who did this, it came down to cost (they got a screaming deal).

Current/never wore? If the team made very slight changes I'm okay with it (i.e. A Habs fan with one of their legends in one of the new RBK EDGe home sweaters is fine, but a legend in one of the barberpoles that the player would have never worn...please seek mental help), but if a team did a complete overhaul...let it go.

I mean what next- buying a Pat Falloon sweater with the Sharks' new third sweaters? Hated? There's a guy at Leafs games who has a Toskala sweater.

The people I sit near have come to the conculsion that this mental midget wasn't loved enough by his parents (personally I think he's just a tool). If I were to see someone wearing a Jason Blake, Brett Lebda, etc. Leafs sweater I would just assume they have mental disabilities, they lost a bet, or they just hate themselves. In short...don't do it.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
