Scientists want party balloons outlawed, as they are wasting our precious supply of helium! So, at another site, we were talking about uses for helium, other than balloons, and we found out where heliums comes from. Where do you think helium is found?
And, what other use can you think of for helium than party balloons? Asked by TurboB 16 days ago Similar Questions: aware running helium Scientists party balloons outlawed wasting Recent Questions About: aware running helium Scientists party balloons outlawed wasting Science > Chemistry.

Oh boy, I don't know of anything else but air for balloons. Helium, I know, is a natural gas. It's been a long time since I finished school so I don't remember much else.
I can't wait to see what other Villers think.. Hugs .
Helium is "mined" from caves. There is helium all around us in the air, but it is not a good source for helium collectors. There are only about 5 parts of helium for every 100,000 parts of air!
People have discovered much richer sources of helium underground. Some radioactive elements, such as uranium, release alpha particles when they decay. An alpha particle is just a helium atom with no electrons.
Deep in the Earth where these radioactive decays take place, the alpha particles capture electrons and become helium. As the radioactive deposits age, large quantities of helium become trapped in underground caverns. To collect the helium, people drill down into the caverns and capture the helium as it escapes.
NOTE: Not my research. It was borrowed from another site, posted by a old timer askviller who no longer comes here. TurboB 16 days ago .
Thanks for that. Very interesting. Glad you posted this.
We can't actually run out of helium, but it is lost into the atmosphere, where recovery is cost-prohibitive. The USA is rapidly selling off the reserves we've built up over a century, causing the price to drop, this contributing to waste.
Helium is extracted from natural gas. It has many industrial uses.
Hot air is the only gas we hold sacred in this country.
I honestly don't have a clue. What other uses for it? I honestly don't have a clue!
Enlighten me, oh wise one. Dear God, I hope the Earth isn't full of helium! It would be drastic if we fell out of orbit around the sun and away from the moon.
It's probably Obama's fault! TurboB 16 days ago .
LOL! Since Obama is king of Earth, all things large and small are his to toy with. Therefore, is there any doubt?
The other day, Obama made me accidentally walk into my bedroom door carrying an armful of laundry. All I could think was, "What did I ever do to him? ".....sigh....
Wow, I guess some of us really do learn something new everyday. Thanks for posting, it was very interesting to read.p.s. My husband was the helium for our kids birthday parties.
LOL his face would be red as a tomato while blowing up those balloons.
You can't run out of hellium. It's a noble gas. It's inert and can't be destroyed.
What the heck? LOL .
We have Birthday Party Balloons almost every weekend. " "Anyone aware of a 3rd party company offering hand-holding over the phone with regard to setting up and using new iPods? " "Where can I find a list of which third-party candidates are running in which states?
" "Where can I purchase 20 foot helium balloons for advertising? " "hello is anyone a chemistry major? " "Ralph Nader Has Announced He's Running For President Again as A Third Party Candidate....." "How are we aware of our own existence?
" "What do you think about the priest who floated off under a bunch of helium balloons? " "I'm thinking of forming my own political party and running for President.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
