Each year we have a large group of adults who each bring a $30 gift and we play the dice game. Once everyone has rolled doubles and has selected a gift, we go around and show off the gift we've opened. We then set a timer and pass the dice around (usually two trays) for another 10 - 15 minutes during which wild trading occurs.
Often, people trade afterward if they have gotten something impractical or too large to transport home.
Every Christmas Eve, my sister and I open one present Every Christmas eve, my sister and I open one present each. It is always a pair of pajamas from our parents. We then put them on and go to sleep!.

I used to give my Mom a Doll every year, but she is overloaded with dolls now, so I only get her the occasional one. When my sons were small, I gave them a Hallmark ornament every year, one of the series ones. Mickey got Frosty and Friends and Shawn got old trucks.
While my children were small, every year I had to pay off my Credit Card and by the next Christmas, I started all over again. I do not miss THAT tradition. Maple syrup and Christmas ornaments Every year Santa leaves our family maple syrup for our Christmas breakfast. When we were younger my parents would give us each individual sized syrups in our stockings and maybe a larger one under the tree but lately he has only been leaving an even larger sized one under the tree. Each child also receives a new Christmas ornament (and all of our ornaments are packed separately by who owns them, so this is important) each one will be different but typically following some sort of theme.
Another tradition is my dad coming up with some way to surprise my mother Christmas morning. For instance one year the two of them picked out a watch for one of his Christmas presents and after Mom wrapped it Dad smuggled it to his workshop where he opened it up and swapped it for a watch that my mother had tried on and liked but decided she didn’t need before closing it back up. He then wrapped up his watch in different wrapping paper, put my mom’s name on it and hid the box in the living room until after he opened up her watch in the package she had wrapped.
The last one I will share is our Christmas Eve gift tradition. Our family would read the Christmas Story out of Luke and afterwards we children would exchange our gifts to each other so that the gifts that we had given wouldn’t suffer in comparison to the more exciting presents we opened up on Christmas Day. Every year since way back in the early seventies I have gotten my mother a dated Christmas tree ornament. Each year I try to find something unique and needless to say, after all of these years her tree is pretty well covered with dated ornaments. I already have the 2007 ornament hid away in my Christmas gift box.
