Hangovers are caused by dehydration and loss of potassium and electrolytes. To prevent hangover: DRINK (that night if possible, if not the next day): - lots of water. This is the best cure for a hangover.
Try to drink 8 glasses. - orange juice (before bed) if you can. - sports drinks which replace lost fluids and electrolytes.

I have heard that drinking cactus juice 3-6 hours before you start drinking will prevent any hangovers from ever happening. It has been proved to work 100% of the time, but I have never personally tried it.
