Hosting a cocktail party can break the budget if you are not careful. Those little appetizers and drinks can really add up but there is a way to have a really great cocktail party and still not break the bank. The first thing you want to do is keep the guest list to a minimum.
The less you have to serve, the more money you will not have to spend. Make sure you serve only finger foods to eliminate the need for having to purchase plastic utensils. Instead of serving high end liquor, make a up a few punches and serve them in disposable plastic cups.
For food, try deviled eggs, mini egg rolls, crackers and cheese, stuffed mushrooms, pigs in a blanket, mini meatballs in sauce, cold cut platter, mini croissants, chicken nuggets with a dipping sauce and cream cheese balls. All of these things are easy to prepare and won't cost an arm and a leg to buy. If you want recipes and more ideas, the following websites will help you.
