I'm interested in and experienced with working with children and families but I'm not a social worker. I'd like to move my focus from suburban youth to those less fortunate. I would rather work for an organization that is at least consistent with my faith perspective which is evangelical Christian, but I don't necessarily want a evangelistic organization.

Among other careers, I am been a volunteer youth minister for many years How about these ideasTends to be somewhat suburban, but might fit your processes - Christian Camping - more than 40% of kids 3-18 at evangelical churches attend Christian Camps in a given year - all of them need summer counselors - although these are mostly volunteer, you could try it and see what you think this summer. Then consider a staff position - they all employ full time workers of various sorts. If you have some management experience at all, Camp Managers are in demand, At least in our brotherhood.(Christian churches and churches of Christ)This website might give you a startccca.org/Now, another thing that you might look into is boys and girls clubs - mostly urban, then provide "y" type services as well as some learning to usually under privileged kids.
Look into the Y as well. In these, of course, you'll have a lot more family work. bgca.org/Of course, most larger churches have staff working with students and families in recreation and education and the rest.
That might be another avenue. Look for the Mega churches in your area. Here's a list of the top 100http://www.outreachmagazine.com/docs/top100_2007_largest.pdf Sources: My answer .
Any people/organizations out there who can assist with tuition to a Catholic A way to work off the tuition.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
