Songs" usually has words since they are music that is meant to be SUNG. If you want some instrumental music from the 1930s, try some instrumental-only versions of songs written by Cole Porter or George Gershwin. Gershwin died in 1937, but Porter lived into the 1960s, so check the dates to be sure.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
