Dallas is a REALLY cool town, but the thing about this area is that everything is really spread out. If you're staying downtown you definitely need to check out the Dallas Museum of Art - it's been remodeled and is absolutely gorgeous! After that, head down Main Street - slow down when you get close to I-35, cuase you're right where Kennedy was shot.
The Book Depository and 6th Floor Musem is on your right, and a DEFINITE do-not-miss. Some really cool history in there. For lunch, head down into the West End market district and you'll find all kinds of fun places to eat - come back that night for some really cool local music and a family scene for night-life.
If you want to go a little more...artsy, you can try Deep Ellum, but it's gotten a little scary lately, so maybe you should avoid it. It's sad really, that used to be THE place in Dallas to go for music (literally everything from rock, blues and reggae to rap and techno), street art and nightlife, but now it's all moved because of gangs. Also downtown is one of my very fave places in the entire world, the Dallas World Aquarium - it's literally an indoor rainforest with free roaming animals everywhere: Mandarin monkeys and tamerins play over your head while a giant waterfall spills into a lagoon with manatees and giant (GIANT) fish.
Thay have a cool underwater tunnel that you walk thru and find yourself surrounded by a massive school of bonnethead sharks and.. just SO much wildlife in there. You really HAVE to do that! It's a real memory maker.
Anyhoo, if you're into amusement parks, you've GOT to hit Arlington (about 15 miles from downtown via I-30. In one square mile, you have Six Flags with about a million rides and at least 7 AWESOME rollercoasters (keeps getting better every year), across the highway is Hurricane Habor (Wet N Wild water slide park). Literally next door to Six Flags is The Ballpark where the Texas Rangers play (you can catch a Major League ball game there) and then across the street from THAT is the brand new $1 billion dollar Cowboys Stadium!
They have tours all year long and let me tell you - you want to see it. It's nothing short of amazing. Wait till you see the gh-def TV the size of your house.
I'm really not kidding. Shopping is a sport here in Dallas and so is dining and honestly, you can't go wrong anywhere you go. Yep, it's pretty cool up here in North Texas, I grew up here so if you want to know about Fort Worth let me know - in certain ways, it's better than Dallas - way more laid back, relaxed and slower paced.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
