Put Pop Tarts ad Guinness Stout at the top of your list.
I feel like saying "tomorrow I will be a vegan" never works. Don't TRY, just ease into it gradually. When you want something with cheese, try replacing it with avocado.
When you eat out at a restaurant, ask for things to be cooked in oil instead of butter. Replace meat in sandwiches with hummus. Eventually, you'll reach a point where you realize you aren't eating any dairy anymore.
That's what I did! I guess it helped that I'm lactose-intolerant and already a vegetarian, but I'm sure the process can still work for you. I don't really shop at Whole Foods because of the expense, but make sure to get NUTRITIONAL YEAST in bulk.
Seriously, that sh*t's amazing. For two tablespoons and 50 calories, you get 8 grams of protein, your ENTIRE daily value of vitamin B12, plus some iron. Make sure to eat LOTS of dark leafy greens.
Kale is my personal favorite. Make sure to also eat potatoes and whole grains. You need at least 18 grams of iron per day, and if you eat a cup of kale, a potato, a couple slices of whole grain bread, plus fortified cereal, then you will be covered; but be sure you don't put the need for iron on the back-burner.
It's VERY important. PEANUT BUTTER! That sh*t's also a mainstay for me.
I know you're trying to lose weight, but a few tablespoons a day won't hurt. In fact, since it's full of protein, it will keep you full. BEANS!
Eat lots of them! Low in fat and high in protein and fiber - you can't go wrong! Learn to cook.
Not only is it generally a good life skill to have, but it makes things easier for people you're living with. Also, if you become good at it, people won't judge you for being vegan because they'll appreciate your delicious food. I'm the vegan of my four roommates, but they always want me to cook and bake for them (even though they know I'm vegan) because I've honed the skill.
Eat lots of whole grains. Not because you're a vegan, but because it's just good for you. Whole grain breads, pastas, brown rice, and cold cereals are awesome.
Oatmeal is great, too. Satisfy your sweet tooth! Otherwise you'll feel deprived.
Ghirardelli SEMI-SWEET chocolate chips (not dark, or anything else) are vegan. You can get that anywhere. If you're shopping at Whole Foods, they have lots of delicious and cheap vegan goodies.
I love their Bavarian Cream donuts, and will get one once in a while. They also have great chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, and of course chocolate bars. Here are some great websites for finding recipes: www.vegweb.com www.theppk.com www.fatfreevegan.com <---this one is for vegans trying to maintain low weights, which is perfect for you!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
