You can replace the garlic powder with a clove of pressed garlic if you like.
Marinade in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before cooking. Be sure to turn the meat occasionally. This will help the marinade soak evenly into the meat.
A good idea is to place the meat and marinade into a large freezer bag. In this way, you just have to flip the bag over to stir things up. Goes well with beef or chicken.. -----------end quote.
Here is my husband's favorite marinade for steak: 2 bottles beer (he likes Corona) 2 cups safflower or canola oil 5 jalapeno chilies, stemmed and chopped 4 cloves garlic, minced 2 tablespoons black pepper 1/4 cup soy sauce 4 cilantro sprigs, minced Blend all ingredients. Place in a shallow glass dish. Rub marinade into meat and turn it several times during marinating time.
Best if done overnight in refrigerator but can be done in 4 hours.
Here's a couple my family have enjoyed. 1. A good can of beer... just place the steak in a shallow dish and let it soak overnight in the beer 2.1/4 cup soy sauce 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar 1 tbsp ground black pepper 1 tbsp course salt 1 tsp cayenne pepper this will cover 2 steaks nicely... set over night and gril.
Take a clean plastic/freezer bag: All these go inside. Vegetable oil (preferably saved from last fondue pot), a dash of white wine or beer according to taste, soy sauce, garlic powder or minced garlic, little bit of ground black pepper, ketchup, mustard, if grilling pork add some (dried) dill, if grilling beef add some (dried) parsley or ground bay leaf, then lemon pepper and drop the steaks inside the mixture. Knead the bag or give it to the kids to knead, then let it rest for a few hours.
I like a dash of chili with the beef, my husband adds a bit of curry powder... It all depends on your tastes! But the plastic bag is great!
Some steak marinade recipes are sweet, some are spicy, some are mustard or horseradish based, and others are soft and fruity. The sky is the limit when it comes to steak marinades.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
