What are the advantages to using Hubpages over a personal blog for which you own the domain?

I also found that a lot of my online content had been plagarized, but there is not much I can do about it. I now stick with sites like Hub Pages, who take care of the legal aspects and protecting my work for me (and for them).

Getting traffic to your blog is the hardest part. HubPages already gets a lot of traffic. Also, like you said HubPages already gets fast and good page rank.

You can always do both. Use HubPages to get links to your Blog until you gain enough traffic on your own.

People usually have a zero-sum mentality about this especially since there's a 60/40 cute between you and Hubpages. Personally I found that Hubpages is so powerful when it comes to page ranking. Plus you don't have to worry about developing the site or paying for a host.At the same time, the SEO specialists over at Hubpages really make sure that your articles are optimized and get a lot of traffi (just take 'title tuner' for instance).

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
