I love movies. Being married for nearly 20 years, I’ve sat through more than my share of chick flicks. So many, in fact, that I actually have a list of favorites.
And from a guy’s point of view, this is a big deal, because chances are, you’re wanting to find a romantic comedy that a guy will actually enjoy rather than endure. So here goes my list. The Princess Bride - Perhaps the most quotable movie of all time, this timeless classic is absolutely wonderful all the way to the final word.
Sweet Home Alabama - It’s Reese Witherspoon at the apex of her charm. It’s smart, clever, funny, and has Lynyrd Skynyrd on the soundtrack. What’s not to like?
Tch - A romantic comedy with Will Smith, Kevin James, and some girl. It’s a romantic comedy where the girl isn’t the point. The dialogue is quick and sharp and there are some serious laughs to be had here.
The Purple Rose of Cairo - Don’t read about this film before you see it! This forgotten gem has a clever premise, some of Woody Allen’s best writing, and is just a really good film. Gh Fidelity - More depressing than deep (which pretty much describes most of John Cusack’s films) this one is fun to watch and has a happy ending.
Notting He’s confused, charming, and is after Julia Roberts. This one made me laugh outloud in the theater at one point. Breakfast At Tiffany’s - If you haven’t seen this, you owe it to yourself to invest an evening.
Honestly, this film is sad, because at some point you’ll realize that there is not another Audrey Hepburn alive today. She’s that wonderful. Two Weeks Notice - Hugh Grant is after Sandra Bullock.
The dialogue is witty and so are the stars. Great script, great performances, good film. What Women Want - Whatever you currently think of Mel Gibson, this film is still funny.
Just Married - This is one of my wife’s favorites, and because of it I’ll never look at a fire poker the same way again.
I like watching romantic comedies. They are great stress relievers and make you laugh heartily. I suppose that the best romantic comedies are those that tickle you endlessly and have good storylines.
Probably, among the best romantic comedies I have seen are Notting Notting ll is definitely a must-see. You can see the persistence and perseverance of Hugh Grant’s character in winning Meg Ryan’s character. As the story goes, he finds himself falling for her character. It is amusing to watch 30 First Dates.
It makes you wonder how your life could be like when the woman you are chasing forgets every first date that you had. Finally, you win her after the 30th first date.It is certainly very romantic.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
