What are the best things to see or do in Scotland and Ireland?

Scotland is all about the scenery - so try St. Andrews, Inveraray, Loch Lomond, Dornoch and The The western Isles are brilliant.

Ireland - Connemara and Galway, Renvyle, Kilkenny are some of my favourites.

Dunno about Scotland, but in Ireland you could do a lot worse than visiting County Sligo up in the northwest. Lots to see, plenty of great pubs in the town and in the country 'round, and of course W.B. Yeats spent a lot of time there. You can visit many of the places he wrote of in his poems in Co.Sligo.

Depends on length of the trip and money. There is always, of course, the pubs and castles.

Personally while travelling through Scotland this summer, I felt one just needs to sit back, relax and soak in the beauty of the verdant greenery all around. The beauty of Scotland and also of Ireland lies in the picturesque scenery in the virgin highlands. The country is impossibly green and the shifting mists and drizzles and clouds floating about on hill tops make it mysterious.

The lochs and glens are indescribably beautiful. Altogether Scotland is stunning for its matchless scenic beauty and visual splendour. It was a treat for tired eyes, feasting upon so much greenery all around.

You have to see it to believe it. But Scotland is pretty cold and chilly even at the height of summer. You should definitely visit isle of Skye and Inverness, if your travel itinerary permits you to do so, even after visiting Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen.

Loch Ness is a bit over hyped - Nessie is a publicity stunt for drawing in gullible tourists, but the lesser known lochs are really beautiful.

Ireland's west coast holds a special attraction for me because of the rugged cliffs, bluish-green waters and the spectacular landscape. I know the place is remote, but it is well worth the trouble to travel to that remote, far flung region, far from the urban madding crowd. I first got to know about Ireland from the sequel to Gone with the Wind called Scarlett.It is truly an emerald isle.

You should definitely take a visit to Fort William to see Ben Nevis – the scenery is stunning.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
