The best toy for any child and any age LEGO! This is gods greatest learning tool given to people. For a young child like yours start with the big huge blocks, and when they learn not to swallow small parts at age 3 or 4 move them onto the normal LEGO blocks.

This will turn your child into a intelligence beast. It will give him or her problem solving skills (what fits where), spatial sense (proportions and what not), creativity (build anything you want), mathematics (how many blocks to build this), analytical skills (when you move onto normal bricks, they build according to the manual if you buy them a set), people skills (they will create stories to go with there creations, and with the little legomen, they are going to talk to them and what not, so its a social improviser). I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
