What are the best wedding favors, bridesmaid gifts and any wedding-related things you've seen over time?

To give this context - I got engaged on Sunday. :) So.. the morphing into Bridezilla has begun, and I'm beginning to realize how crazy this is all going to be (and possibly expensive). Askville - suggestions?

My brother had the cameras at his reception and as the evening wore on the pictures got more silly. Lots of loose candid shots, priceless! I think a Honeyfund is a practical, no-nonsense option that more and more people are choosing these days.As a guest I would feel good knowing that I was helping you have a better honeymoon!

I attended an outdoor summer wedding and on all the chairs were hand-held fans with the wedding information on them. I thought that was very convenient. They were colored paper with the information printed in pretty font on wooden sticks.

Ooh! That's a great idea! I don't think we are doing it in summer - but a similar idea for the season would be awesome!

Congratulations GenelleH, that is great news. My first suggestion (wedding related) is to do what you want to make the day memorable. Listen to ideas and suggestions but follow your heart.My second suggestion is to fully enjoy your wedding day, be in the moment and love every second of it as it goes by so fast.

You can get party favors wholesale then just doll them up with a ribbon...I need to think of the name of the company, I'll get back to you on it. I know they are worldwide too...I've dealt with them before.

My favorite thing I saw was a "chocolate bar" instead of an alcoholic bar... its was pretty awesome... There were loads of chocolate in these huge vases and scoops in it so people could just take what they wanted. The chocolate wrappers matched the color scheme of the wedding reception so it was really lovely.

Oh fun! So where were these placed? Along the sides by the food?

It was placed next to the drink bar (which only served non alcoholic drinks). There was a bar for the drinks and a bar for the chocolate. Everyone had these cute lil martini glasses they could put the truffles in them to bring it back to their table.

Made it fun and posh..lol .

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
