I'm a bridesmaid in a destination wedding. Do you get a gift as well when spending $2500 on being a part of the wedding? Some additional details - When initially asked to be in the wedding it was to be a wedding in the town that we lived in.

After saying yes (knowing that I could afford everything that came with a local wedding (i.e. Bridal shower gift, bachelorette party gift, wedding gift)) the budget has changed. It is, however, proper etiquette for the bride and groom (or their parents, depending on who is throwing the wedding) to pay for the rooms and other incidentals of the bridesmaids and groomsmen. Personally I think it stinks that they expect you to pay that much to be in her wedding. I wouldn't buy them a gift, your gift to them is paying an outrageous amount for a destination wedding that they'll not even remember in a year.

Wow....people spend WAY too much money on marriage ceremonies. What a waste. It's not how "fancy" the wedding is but how long it lasts and how great the relationship is.

On that note...you don't need to get them a "fancy" gift. Somthing small from the heart.

Sadly, yes: Regardless of how much you spend to attend a wedding, fork out good money for that perfectly awful bridesmaid's dress you're being forced to wear (and can probably never wear again, even if you wanted to), and spend more than you ever intended on various pre-wedding party gifts, you are still obligated to bring or send a wedding gift. The good news is that, traditionally, you have up to one year from the date of the wedding to actually deliver. It's a silly, wasteful tradition (especially when the couple insists on breaking the banks of their families and friends with a "destination wedding"), but if you don't want to risk committing an unforgivable faux pas, you'll bite the bullet and come up with a gift... say, in about a year.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
