Any sex that is aggreable by both parties is OK if both have their majority. Morals is often reduced to sanctimony and therefore, is completely superfluous.
Although not considered a moral issue, the fact that there are so many ignorant questions about sexuality on this website alone leads to the speculation that the result of such ignorance must lead, according to the law of averages to the other arguable questions of morality such as abortion. As well there is the issue of disease. Morality should be the innate sense of harmony within each individual played out in their actions with others, not some roster of rights and wrongs imposed by some grand Pu Bah over all the land.
We are burdened by a 'morality' that rather than educates, judges. The prerequisite conditions of premarital sex should be based upon rational considerations which include being of legal age, i.e. , one in which emotional development can accommodate the result of such intimacy, a thorough knowledge of the biological function of human sexuality, including possible disease and the art of birth control.
As well, there should be an understanding of how the scenario of a pregnancy or disease would be played out financially as well as humanely in the real world. Compare that to the completely ignorant banging to pee pees going on as young as 11 or 12, and you will get an idea of how stunted kids are about the reality of sexuality. Why?
Because people's stunted morality judgments about it prevent them from educating their kids and arming them with support of a wiser path devoid of judgment and persecution.

How simple society must have been back near the dawn of civilization when children were free to follow sexual impulses arising from playful interaction. At some point in history, once a community reached a size greater than its infrastructure could serve, recognizing the need to regulate when and how many children were to be born, prohibitions under religious and secular law were established and maintained for economic and/or political purposes. The question does not indicate the age of the couple considering premarital sex.
Advice I might offer twenty-year-olds would be somewhat different from what I would offer thirty-year-olds and up. If mortoy's use of "premarital" indicates that the question concerns those of legal age, then for me the essential moral principle is to follow your heart.
Culture, including religious culture, can define the morals of all human activity, including premarital sex. Logic and reason can help to explain moral principles as well, such as those against theft, murder, rape, assault, battery, cruelty to children, etc. The moral principles and the logical reasoning concerning premarital sex can include protection of the woman and child, as sexual relations may result in pregnancy; protection of a young woman whose judgment may not be mature enough to enable her to refuse; the bias that a child should be born into a family with a loving mother and loving father; and the protection of the father so that he is sure the child is his. The bias towards family extends to a prejudice against extra-marital relations as well, with an intact family........and certainly here as well to protect the father so that he is sure the child is his.
Having a family is important for kids. Many people are not getting married due to seeing parents divorce.
Morality is defined by the culture in which you live. In the United States, and most civilized countries, premarital sex is viewed as morally OK, in most cases, as long as you have a dedicated partner.
