What are the necessary equipment needed to become a hairstylist?

When you go through beauty school you will be given your own set of beauty supplies. Supplies may vary by school but may include sheers (scissors), a manikin, shampoo cape, perm rods, marcel curling iron, blow dryer, hair spray, gel, mousse and so on. Many cosmetology students end up buying stuff as they need it, if it is not included in the kit.By the time you graduate you pretty much have everything you need.

To cut hair from home you will need shampoo, conditioner, sheers, thinning sheers, clippers, a chair for clients, cape, shampoo bowl, a hard hat dryer, hair color in different shades, perming solution, blow dryer, flat iron, comb, brush, jar and cleaner for utensils and styling products. Styling products may include hair spray, mousse, gel, hair wax, serum and so on. You can get all of these at beauty supply stores.

Sally Beauty Supply also sells kits, but as I mentioned you usually get them in school.
