My understanding is that largely depends on where you live. Jurors should only be chosen when needed, so a higher number of jury trial cases leads to a higher frequency for duty calls. Secondly, the jury pool comes from registered voters or drivers' licenses. So the more dense the population in your area leads to a lower frequency of jury duties.
Now that said, I did not see any kind of time estimate on jury calls, but I would count on at least one during your lifetime. That "lifetime" generally is considered to be 52 years (age 18 to 70). Even then, you may be excused during the jury selection process.
In addition, you can request to be excused if you served on a jury within the last 2 years from your current survey. People I have discussed this with have said that I should expect a jury duty survey (which is the first "filter" for potential jurors) about once every 10 to 15 years.
The summons are random, and they call many more people than are actually needed to serve on a jury. Many people are excused for various reasons, and some don't even show up, so in large cities several hundred people can be summoned for a single two-week period. However, your chance of being summoned for any particular jury pool does not depend on how many times you've been summoned before or on any personal characteristics, so there's not an accurate way to calculate your chance.
I was summoned to serve on the jury for two different courts in my city less than a month apart, so I asked about the process and they told me it's entirely automated and they have no way to predict who will be summoned or how many times.
It really doesn't matter it's easy to get out of. All you have to do is send a letter saying your relative died, and you don't have to go. You have to be a real sapp to actually be a juror.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
