Always carry small money, be prepared to haggle over everything and don't look too interested. There is a great book available called Culture Shock! Morocco by Orin Hargraves, and it helps with all kinds of issues like this.
On page 171 it gives you tactics used by both buyers and sellers including this: 1) Buyer: Not showing too much enthusiasm Seller: Not showing too much enthusiasm 2) Buyer: walking away when seller has named his 'lowest' price Seller: turning away when buyer has named his 'highest' price 3) Buyer: Pointing out flaws in the product Seller: noting the superior quality of the product 4) Buyer: quoting a lower price for the same item that you saw elsewhere Seller: insisting that the lower-priced item was of interior quality 5) Buyer: claiming not to have enough money to meet the seller's 'lowest' price Seller: claiming tht the buyer's 'highest' price would force hm to take a loss 6) Buyer: praise and flattery for seller's shops, goods, children, piety, etc Seller: ... more.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
