These are two separate questions. To write a book, first you must have an idea. Whether it is to be fiction or non fiction, you need to have some idea of what you want to write about - and more importantly, what others might want to read.

Start with your idea. You want to tell a story. If it is fiction, it is a made-up story; if it is about something factual, you need to still develop your facts and information in such a way as to take the reader from point A to Point B.

Most people do this with an outline or storyboard; you can develop your own mechanism. You don't need to put everything on the outline - just the major ideas or points. You will over time fill in the blanks, rewrite portions of it, and do a lot of editing, to make it hang together.

A suggestion: don't start with a whole book. Start with a short story or an essay. Get a feel for the mechanics and thought process, because it is the same whether a book or a story.

Once you're comfortable with the way that *you* create, then expand to a book. Doing a short story will be much more satisfying to you short term.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
