I've been thinking about an opportunity to travel to India next November all day. I can't decide how important India is in my overall dream travel list. I've been trying to put together a dream travel list and I'm stuck.
I'd also like to add that I had never dreamt of traveling to Dubai until my husband was given a trip there as a reward. That trip was one of the highlights of my life. Maybe a dream destination isn't always the best choice.

Ireland... I have always wanted to go there. One of my granddaughters is 1/2 Irish (her father is Irish) and we are planning a trip there when she graduates High School. Her Pappy and I will take her, in 5 years.
Next, I would love to go to Maine, Mass, and VT. I lived in VA for 2 years back the the late 60's and I didn't get the opportunity to go to those places. We plan on getting RV and travel through those areas sometime during the Fall.
Will probably do that in a year. Hawaii, even though I have been there many times, it is one of my favorite places. I love South Pointe on the Big Island.
It is the most southern point in the US or so they say. We are going to Kona in September with 2 of our daughters and their families. We have a daughter, and family, that lives on the Big Island and we are going to have the best time visiting, playing, sightseeing, and eating.
My hubby and I are counting the days.... Google Map View Larger Map .
Before I die, I would love to visit... 1. Alaska! I really would like to do a cruise/land combination where I can see the land from both perspectives.
I would like to take a train through the parks/forests, and see the bears hunt for salmon! I want to see the Iditerod, too, and go dog-sledding again (we did this on our honeymoon, and it was amazing). I would also like to see some real moose roaming as well.
I truly think this would be an amazing trip for the whole family! 2. Australia/New Zealand!
I have always wanted to see this amazing land! Of course, to see the America's Cup Sailing event would be amazing in New Zealand! I would love to see the wildlife and the amazing scenery!
I might actually want to go great white shark diving here, too, as I hear there are a lot of great whites in Australia! My husband and I went on a great white shark dive in Isla Guatalupe before we were married, and I have to admit that it was one of the most amazing events I've ever partaken in! The sharks are so massive, and we actually had the opportunity to look down the jaws of one trying to actually bite our cage, so that was an adrenaline rush I don't know that I want to experience again, but it provided for some great pictures!
:) 3. An African Safari! I hear this is the most amazing trip anyone could ever dream of partaking in!
I have known several people who have done this, and they have all had super pictures, and they had even better stories of the adventures! As long as I was protected from the wildlife, I think I'd be okay! :) 4.
Fiji! I've always wanted to stay in one of the places in the water and enjoy the water! 5.
Great Britain! I hear the history is amazing there, and I think it would be a royal treat to see the history there and take in the beauty of the scenery! Gosh, there are so many places I have yet to want to go visit, and I couldn't possibly name them all here, but this is a start!
There are so many places I've already been to and seen both in the US and out that I want my own children to experience someday...like Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, San Francisco, Boston and the whole New England area (the history is amazing here), Route 1 along the coast in CA, and then Austria and Germany for a few! .

I've got it easy in that reguard... I travel to every Olympics and every Olympic type event (Asian games, pan am games, the British commonwealth games, so on). That has me traveling around the world to different locations. I seldom repeat a location or culture.
When I get there, the entire city is set up for a big party with free cultural events, free stuff, and a population who is looking to make friends with people from outside. Add to that the Games themselves, and the pins (woo hoo), and I've yet to have a lack luster trip, or a trip that does not have at least 3 or 4 good stories. The secret is to go on the cheap.
Frequent flier miles to the city. I usually rent an apartment with friends. I usually hope for about $1000 per person for the room for a month.
All in all, good times.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
