What can a person do when all his interests and passions can't realistically make any money?

It is all in your head really. Any human being can do something worthwhile for others. I mean, you can write, you have a good command of English.

You could become a freelance writer for magazines or websites. Turn your interests and passions into interesting articles and get them published somewhere. Many people share your interests in arts, politics and research and they want to read about it.

You can build and make products, create websites and promote + sell them. If you write an interesting book about arts and it's indeed good quality then you can get a publisher to print the book and sell it. If you have mastered a different art, like making furniture, then do that.

Perhaps it will end up as art in a museum (you would be amazed how much money you can make with that, although it's not a straightforward career path). I don't know what you can do best. But I won't believe you when you say you cannot do something to turn your talents into money.

Hmmm, I understand I used to feel the same way and what I found was that many of the most successful people in the world never went to college. Henry Ford never graduated high school, but went on to start one of the largest automobile manufacturing companies in the world. Bill Gates, a college dropout, has been named the richest person in the world by Forbes magazine 27 times.

I really don't like selling either in the sense of feeling like I'm pushing products on people but there is a way you can sell much more effectively. It's called multiplied salesmanship. Instead of trying to sell to people one person at a time face to face you let people come to you letting automated systems like your website reach a lot more people in less time.

Believe it or not, I just read your question and you already write well enough. You can write about art, politics, writing, building/making things, research or what ever you like. Then sell your information as a book CD or DVD if you like this better way of selling.

The fastest way to get started is to sell someone else's system first. Take Care,Jim.

Never give up! There is hope! Think positive!

I have already written a manuscript for a novel. People have no idea how difficult it is for an unknown author to get anything published, let alone get paid for it. I have a difficult time just getting people to look at my work.

Without a degree in english, communications, or journalism and without the right connections, it's almost impossible to get discovered. I'm looking for a suggestion that's a tad more stable and doesn't require a gatekeeper. If I need to go through an employer or a publisher, it won't work.My experience has been authority figures have never shown me any proper respect.

They would rather hire someone who is as dumb as a sack of bricks. They simply don't want to hire people smarter than them...

Peoples should always know that money is not a cost of interest and passion. For money some time you have to go out of your interest and passion and you have to see the market value money is the cost of the things that keeps value in market and you have to chase and completion and have to see what is valuable in market.

You said you like building and making things. Why don't you pick a building trade? If you are young then you should consider taking some courses at a technical school such as dry walling, brick laying, or any number of skilled trades.

If you are older there are plenty of places, if you look hard enough, who will hire unskilled labour and you can learn and grow. Starting your own business is hard without money and experience but you can almost always become a house painter. You can never completely escape dealing with the humans but you can cut down the number with whom you have to deal.

You really just have to take on some people skills and deal with it. No one owes you anything and life is hard. You just have to deal with it.

Keep looking at what other people do until you see something with which you can cope. I'm an artist and I understand. I've had to do many jobs I didn't care for but I did find some satisfaction in renovations and taught myself how to drywall and I already knew about electricity so I'm a really good unlicensed electrician.

You just have to keep looking and you will find something.

Your personal style can be different and unique and some people may have interest in your "taste" of things or some people are really interested what you write rather than what your overall perspective. Writing = money.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
