Elevate, caffeinate and lubricate If swelling is a factor, elevate the arm, ice the finger in 15 minute cylces (15 on/15 off)....Caffeine helps pull water out of your system. Lubricate, lubricate, lubricate---baby oil, dish soap There is a special tool to cut off the ring without cutting the finger....every ER would have one for sure (if this is an emergency--e. G finger turning blue).
If not an emergency, I would call local internists and even hand surgeons in town to see if they have the device. You may also call around to area jewelers/jewelry stores.
A couple of things to try. Before going and having your ring cut to remove it...try this.. Put some cold water with ice cubes in a bowl. Soak your hand in the water.
When hands get gold, the fingers usually shrink somewhat. While your hand is still nice and cold, pour some vegetable oil over the ring finger...and try to gently work the ring over your knuckle. If that doesn't work for you, call a local jeweler and ask if they can cut your ring.
If they can't, they may be able to direct you to someone with the proper tools to cut it. Sources: My thoughts HELENofTROY's Recommendations Jewelers Saw Blades, 48 tpi (12) Amazon List Price: $3.35 Adjustable Jewelers Saw Amazon List Price: $12.90 .
Just go to your local jeweler. They have a device to cut the ring off from you, and can then resize it for you. They will probably do it for free, especially if you get the ring repaired from them.
Some hospital emergency rooms also have the tool, although they aren't known to be as careful as a jeweler will be--I don't mean that they will cut your finger, but that they won't be as careful with the ring in the process! Some say that you can do various things to try to get the ring off; of course there's greasy products you can rub on the finger or soap, things like that. And wrapping dental floss around the finger to compress the area above the ring.
But if you've tried all those with no luck, it's best to just get the ring cut off.
If you cannot work the ring over your knuckle, using some type of lubricant. Your next recourse is to go to a jeweler. I would expect most jewelers to have ring cutters.
Your last resort would be to inquire at your local hospital. They have ring cutters available for medical emergencies. My understanding is that a ring cutter typically does not destroy the ring, if used properly, so the ring could then be resized.
Try soaping it for starters. Soap's a very good lubricant, and that often works. Try it when your hand is really cold.
Otherwise, my guess is that you'd probably need a paramedic. You can do yourself a nasty favour by trying it at home - a posh jeweller might be able to help, but check first. There's lots of useful tendons and blood supply around those parts which you wouldn't want to damage.
Hope it works.
Why am I losing weight when im not on a diet.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
