Ancient Babylon is what we currently call Iraq. Some people are a little freaked out since the current super power (US) is meddling there.
It may well be... Babylon itself. Saddam Hussein had rebuilt much of that ancient city before the invasion of Iraq. Today, Iraqi officials and the UN have plans to further rebuild, restore, and expand Babylon.
I believe it opened up for tourism in 2009. There are pictures online of American soldiers visiting the city - it does not look like ruins at all. Take note the main gate into the city is called the gate of Ishtar.
Ishtar (pronounced Easter) is the old world name of Easter, Goddess of Fertility. I find it interesting how a premier Christian holiday is named after a pagan goddess, and the gate to this biblically satanic city is name after her. Praise the Lord.
A good story on modern Babylon is here: http://www.worldviewweekend.com/worldview-times/ar - Harlan.
Babylon in Revelation is a great harlot that beds with the political world, it is the world empire of false religion.
I believe it is the present city of Bagdad.
Babylon in Revelation represents a culture, a global socioeconomic lifestyle. As such, there is no city of Babylon; the whole world is Babylon. That being said, as I explain in my book, there are actually two Babylon's mentioned in the Book of Revelation, I believe one of these is the United States, (the New Roman Empire) which must be destroyed to usher in the global government of the AntiChrist.
Nobody has answered this yet so I'll make an attempt. The Babylon of Revelation will probably be a city, or city-state, already in existence. Revelation indicates that merchants will have global power. So I'm translating that as high finance.
There will be the usual decadence to include human trafficking. This points to an area close to Eastern Europe and Africa. And the Revelation Babylon will be extremely populous. There are other signs but all this points to the Middle East but also to an area that embraces Western ideology and customs.
Also, to maintain this level of wealth there must be access. So there will be airports and seaports. So I'm thinking that the new center of global power will be in the Middle East -- specifically Kuwait. This region already has a heavy Muslim culture but Kuwait is more open to a Western influence.
Money in this region flows faster than the Euphrates. Kuwait has a land mass of nearly 18,000 km or about the size of New Jersey. So it could hold lots of decadent bodies.
It has a coastline of almost 500 km making for an excellent seaport. And Kuwait is close to Biblical history. It is bordered by Iraq and Iran and is a stone's throw from Israel.
But nobody knows for sure about the future Babylon. Right now the world is in flux. It's like dice (die) are being shaken and will soon be rolled onto a table to reveal an entirely new global landscape.
Place your bets now.
I think an allied, united Muslim front of ancient middle eastern countries is going to destroy the United States one day. I believe this Muslim movement will be buoyed from of all places England in the heart of the European Union. I believe that God is going to and has already judged the United States of America for the evil it has committed against human beings in his name.
Not to mention the fact that it worships the almighty dollar and has perverted justice a countless number of times. The men of the United States have encouraged their women to sexually objectify themselves and have taught their daughters to value their fleshly appearance above any and all other qualities. If there is a whore or a beast that is spoken about in revelation the United States is certainly on the list of possible candidates.
Babylon is more a manifest spiritual identity than a physical city or place. The United States in all its supposed splendor and power fits a great many qualities of this spiritual Babylon. Despite her many abominations she keeps saying that she is of Yeshua. It brings to mind a scripture wherein Jesus says that there is one sin that will not be forgiven.
That sin is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. Calling something that was done by the power of God something that was done by Satan. I imagine this sin works in the reverse as well.
To attribute evil acts to God and call them Gods will have to be equated with abomination and are certainly part and parcel of spiritual Babylon.
Babylon occurs in the Christian New Testament both with a literal and a figurative meaning. The famous ancient city, located near Baghdad, was a complete unpopulated ruin by 275 BC, well before the time of the New Testament. In the Book of Revelation, the city of Babylon seems to be the symbol of every kind of evil.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
