The city that many consider has the most important history in the world is Rome. It is difficult to argue against that judgment because during centuries the fortune of the city has been distinguished by victories and tragic moments, by a set of ups and downs which match those of the rest of world. After hundreds of years of prosperity, the barbarian invasions first and later on the increasing power of the Church corresponded to a decline of the city itself, which became the field of fights among the surviving noble roman families.
The new city was never to regain the status of the ancient eternal city, the old Rome but nevertheless it attracts millions of visitors every year because of its memorable past. For more about the city click here: rome.info/ Enjoy the visit!
