I'm trying to find out more information (that is, if there is a trend) in what colleges companies in Silicon Valley (Google, Apple, EA, etc) hire from.. I'm sure the employees are an eclectic mix of people, but I'm looking to see if there are any "trends" in where employees/interns come from (I will be majoring in business and will pursue a job as an Intellectual Property Attorney). I'm currently looking into colleges in northern California, but am wondering if there are other good "hubs"/places of interest for tech companies. Thanks!

Some of the major players at Sillicon Valley Graduated from these Universities MIT Berkley Ca, University Standford Ca, University I have had friends that have gone these universities, Stanford and Berkley. One works in Silicon Valley. MIT is a well know recruiting spot for Silicon Valley and the government..
The tech companies I worked for there looked for tech types at big name schools but also hired from across the gamut. Since the Bay Area has been a hub of technology for so long, it is hard to tell if the universities started it, or the companies flocking to the area caused good schools. Berzerkely and the Farm (Stanfoo) carry the odor of a good degree almost any company would take.
Others are recognized for creating candidates with potential though, especially Cal Tech in San Louis Obispo. I was a consultant at the company that hired me, so they ignored the fact that I came from Oregon State. (Kidding, of course, Go Beavs) The school counts to get you in the door for an interview.
From there on, it is what you have done, and what they think they can get by bringing you into the organization. Being local counts because they don’t have to pay your moving expenses to one of the most expensive places around. Also, schools like San Jose State cater to the companies, giving them free help for projects so that their students can gain experience and hopefully contacts.
UC Santa Cruz is also nearby and supplies less tech help, more well - rounded types. UC Davis isn’t far either, and focuses more on biological type studies. If you go to high school in the area and do well, there are special programs with schools like Cal.My daughter had a guaranteed admission as a Junior if she went to a local community college and kept her grades up.
It saved a bundle and gave her a great education. If you know what major or area of business you want to focus on, a good question might be which school would give you the best education for that field. Lets see, Intellectual Property might be Stanford, Berkely, SF State, USF Sources: 30 years in the thick of it .

A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
