As long as you aren't "For re" you are exempt from "most" Commercial laws, each state is different. There are quite a few ex truck drivers that just convert their old Class A trucks into RV's You would still have to have the license to drive it tho, Air brakes, Class B, endorsements and tonnage weight limits of the truck, etc.
