If there's a small store you patronize often, where staff would recognize you, take it there. And, or call a store where the jacket is not likely to be carried and ask to speak to a manager or asst. Manager.
Explain the problem and ask if you can bring the jacket in to have the tag removed. Good luck!
Find out what kind of security tag it has then try to find a friend who works in retail and might be able to help you out taking it off. Also, I am sure that if you searched hard enough you could find a way to take off the tag. You know there are some shoplifters that use the internet and probably share the techniques for removing tags from stolen items (which I am totally against, but the information is probably there).
Have you tried any tools?
Call and ask the store where you bought it, they would have the best answer.
You can try to go to some other store and tell them what happened, show them the receipt, and see if they won't mind taking the security tag off for you, but most won't do it. I think the only solution is to go back to that store and have them take it off. And yeah, don't try to take it off yourself because you will ruin the garment.Lena.
Just in case I didn't make this clear, I bought the jacket in the Netherlands. I am from the United States. Going back to the store would be a several thousand dollar plane ticket.
I worked in retail, and we could not remove security tags without a receipt as the merchandise is potentially stolen. I know at the store I used to work at, the device for removing tags at the register basically created a strong magnetic attraction between the head and the device that pulled it off. I've never had to remove one at home, so I don't know how useful any type of magnetic device will be.
But I did find this website: mrports.com/2007/03/how-to-remove-securGood luck!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
