Questions are open for seven days, or until there have been five answers. I think that is too few. What is your opinion?

Limit's not a huge deal... the restrictions are. I don't think the 5 answer limit is a big deal.. it seems to take a long time for some questions to get 5 answers. Also, it seems that in most cases the answers are all similar, each with just a little unique information.
I do think there should be a brief blank allowing you to explain why you rated someone's answer the way you did. For example, I rated one the other day (a question about kitty litter and odor) that said several correct things, but then went on to suggest feeding cats a dry diet to keep the smell down. This is a horrible idea -- cats require a lot of liquid and are best off with a totally or at least partially wet diet.So I marked it as "wrong".
The other points the person made were good ones though -- and I had no way of making a note of why I had marked it "wrong".
I think five answers is okay. I think it is okay because new questions get added so frequently that by the time a question has five answers, it is probably already several pages back in the list. (I actually don't see why they are open for 7 days, for the same reason. In 7 days, a question is going to be really far back in the pages).
If you got your five answers and you didn't like any of those, or they didnt' help you with your question, you could always re-ask the question a little differently and see if you get a better response.
I agree. Why are there limits to time or how many answers at all? .
Whenever I do it, it never works! " "Why is it that people here on Askville would rather use the discussion than answer the question?" "Is there a limit to how many answers a question can recieve on this new askville format? " "What should you do when you have a humorous answer to an Askville question?
" "OK Askville: Why did noone get best answer on this question?" "I think Askville has totally lost it now! I just got my own question sent to me to 'rate' the answer. In the answer" "WHat is the craziest or weirdest question and answer that you have seen here on askville" "How do I get more than one or two answers that sort of answer my Askville question?" "When you ask a legitimate question on askville, why do some annoying people answer "I don't know..."?
" "Have you ever read a question on Askville that you knew the answer to, but...

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
