The first round of the NFL draft went pretty much how everyone thought it would go; until the third pick. After Bradford, Suh, and McCoy, the fourth pick caught a lot of people by surprise. Since Russell Okung was the highest rated left tackle (LT), he seemed like a good fit for Shannon's new offense featuring Donovan McNabb, Larry Johnson, and Willie Parker.

However, reports suggested that Trent Williams was the better athlete and his ability to move faster would be a better fit in Shannon's zone blocking scheme. Apparently, Trent Williams was higher on the Redskins draft board because he was the 4th selection. The fifth pick, Eric Berry, was selected by Kansas City and has been touted as the next Ed Reed.

A great compliment for a man who dominated in college at Tennessee. However, is he worth the fifth pick? I do not doubt his ability to make players, cover, and support the run.It is the business side of the NFL I am thinking about.

He could become the top paid safety in the league without even stepping on the field yet. The sixth pick, Russell Okung, fell into the lap of the Seattle Seahawks. Great fit for a team that will probably lose their LT, Walter Jones, in the next few days.

The seventh pick, Joe Haden, was the first pick of the new era by Mike Holmgren at the Cleveland Browns. Since he is considered a genius on offense, it is ironic his first pick is a cornerback. After a disappointing 40 time a the combine, Haden came around at this pro day at the U of Florida.

Apparently, it was a good enough turn around to still be the top Cornerback (CB) on the board for the Browns. The eighth pick, Rolando McClain, was a surprise to most for the Oakland Raiders. As we would all see, it seemed that Al Davis, the owner of the Oakland Raiders, was napping during the entire draft at they would go on to have a top 10 or top 5 draft. Since Al loves physical ability, most believed Bruce Campbell would be their first pick.

Well, they had to wait til the fourth round for that to happen, but Rolando was just too sweet to pass up. Rolando is coming off a national championship with the Alabama Tide and was a featured linebacker on their top rank defense. The ninth pick, C.J. Spiller, was the first selection by the Buffalo Bills.

Since most thought Jimmy Clausen would go here, C.J. Spiller was a surprise since they still had Fred Davis and Marshawn Lynch on their depth chart at the running back (RB) position.C.J.Spiller is a do-all running back. He can run, catch, kick return, and punt return. He is a threat with the ball every down.

I just do not know if he is the right pick for the Buffalo Bills. They needed an upgrade at a lot of positions on both the offensive and defense. The tenth pick, Tyson Alualu, was a reach for the Jacksonville Jags.

I honestly believe they wanted and needed Tim Tebow. At the 10th pick, Tebow would have been completely a reach and could have set the team back years. However, the Jags could have slipped down 12 spots, picked up a large lot of draft picks, and gotten Tebow and Tyson. Tyson is known for his strength out of the U of Cal Bears.

Solid player, but the value is a big factor. The eleventh pick, Anthony Davis, was the first of two picks for the 49ers in the first round. The 49ers wanted to get back to running the ball.

However, Anthony Davis is better known for his pass-protection ability. He has a lot of upside and I am sure Mike Singletary, the head coach of the 49ers, will instill into his 1st round pick the importance of blocking for the run. The twelfth pick, Ryan Mathews, is headed to San Diego after they jumped 16 spots and traded with the Miami Dolphins.

San Diego needed a running back. Plain and simple. He was best running back available.

San Diego gave up picks to get him (The Chargers gave up the No. 28 pick, the No.40 selection and inside linebacker Tim Dobbins, and swapped fourth-round picks for Mathews and a sixth-rounder. ) However, Ryan Mathews was THE player the Bolts wanted.

The thirteenth pick, Brendan Graham, was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles after jumping from 24 to 13. Another trade in the first round; there are many more to come. Known for his motor and power, this U of Michigan player will be a quality player for the eagles at Defensive End (DE).( Eagles gave the 24th overall pick in the first round as well as two third-round picks, 70th and 87th overall, to the Denver Broncos) The fourteenth pick, Earl Thomas, was the second highest safety rated after Berry and was selected by the Seattle Seahawks.

Another great player lands in the Seahawks lap and this is why I believe the Seahawks had the best 1st round draft. He has excellent versatility in coverage, showing the ability to walk up and line up over the slot receiver or play a center-fielder role in zone coverage. Seattle needed to address their defensive secondary and may have found their answer with this U of Texas player.

The fifteenth pick, Jason Pierre-Paul, was a prospect pick. Risk/Reward style of draft pick for the New York Giants. I feel he will be a bust.

Junior College Transfer and Limited games with South Florida. He is a great athlete and teams may seem him as the next Javon Kearse. Let's hope he makes a lot of progress and lives up to the hype.

The sixteenth pick, Derrick Morgan, for the tennessee titans is a great pick for their ability to regroup their defense after losing their identity (Albert Haynesworth & Vandon Bosch) He was the #1 DE on a lot of boards and the Titans got him without trading up. Morgan has everything you could want in a DE, moves/first step, but lacks elite speed. Still, he will be a long time veteran in the league.

The seventeenth pick, Mike Iupati, was chosen by the 49ers. As I stated, the 49ers want to run the ball. Iupati comes from Idaho and he will be the interior line for the 49ers for years to come.

The eighteen pick, Maurkice Pouncey, for the Pittsburgh Steelers will be a solid contributor from the U of Florida. Pouncey played Center for the Gators but could move to guard for now. Great pick for a team that needed to address their offensive line.

The nineteenth pick, Sean Weatherspoon, for the Atlanta Falcons is a player. From the U of Missouri, this linebacker could ultimately fill the void that Keith Brookings, inside linebacker, left when he was cut and signed with the Dallas Cowboys. Weatherspoon is listed as an outside line backer, but is versatile enough to come and play inside.

The twentieth pick, Kareem Jackson, comes from the U of Alabama and will play for the Houston Texans. In order to fill the void after losing D. Robinson in free agency to the Atlanta Falcons, they needed a shutdown CB.

Kareem Jackson was their man. He is a shut down corner, great athlete, and a leader. Quick 21-31: 21.

Cincinnati Bengals: Jermain Gresham is a tight end (TE) and another weapon for Cinci and QB Carson Palmer 22. Denver Broncos: Demaryius Thomas is a WR with high potential as a deep threat. However, can he run routes and do well in double coverage?

He is taking over for Brandon Marshall (Baby Terrell Owens in skill and personality) and has some huge shoes to fill.23. Green Bay Packers: Bryan Bulaga, LT, comes from Iowa (Becoming OL University) and will protect Aaron Rogers. Great Value Pick 24.

Dallas Cowboys: Dez Bryant, Wide Receiver, was the #1 wide receiver in the draft for most scouts. Therefore, the Cowboys love this pick. They passed on Randy Moss in the past and vowed to redeem themselves.

Time will tell whether Dez is Randy Moss or Mike Williams.25. Denver Broncos: Tim Tebow, Quarterback from U of Florida. I honestly have mixed opinions on this pick.

He will either be the reincarnation of John Elway or set the Broncos organization back 5-8 years. There were three teams that REALLY wanted Timmy; Jacksonville Jags, Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos. Is he a reach in the 1st round? I believe so.

However, Timmy has all those intangibles a team like Denver is looking for in their organization. He is a natural leader, a do-all player, high motor, and overcame all doubters in high school and college that he is a quarterback who can win and be successful. The NFL will make or break Tim Tebow and Josh McDaniels.

McDaniels is known for his quarterback successes at New England. If a throw the words New England, Tom Brady, Tim Tebow, it would sound like three words that are associated with success. Seems like a perfect fit for the Broncos, right?

Not so fast. The Broncos already have Kyle Orton, who improved last year. They aquired Brady Quinn from the Cleveland Browns, and now they have Timmy.

Who is the starter? Time will tell. I believe Kyle Orton will be the starter at the beginning of the season, but heaven forbid he struggles.

As a first round pick and surrounded by all the hype, Tim Tebow better be ready to play. The Denver Broncos and their fans idolize John Elway. As you walk into the stadium, there is a statue of the man.

Can Tim Tebow be their new savior? This is almost like writing a soap opera. Good luck Tim Tebow.

You are in for a wild ride.26: Arizona Cardinals: Dan Williams. Arizona plays a 3-4 defense.3-4 defense is led by a premier nose tackle. Dan Williams is the best nose tackle available.

Perfect fit for a team that needed an upgrade at the position.27: New England Patriots: Devin McCourty is a CB who is best known as a special teams player on both sides of the ball. He can block punts and return kicks. He is also a pretty good cornerback.

Versatile pick and a great fit for the Patriots.28: Miami Dolphins: Jared Odrick is a defensive tackle (DT) from Penn State. Another player with a great motor and first step, Odrick becomes another piece of the puzzle for Miami as they try and regain their position in the AFC.29: New York Jets: Kyle Wilson is a CB and possible the best CB in the draft. He is a known shut down corner out of Boise State.

Wilson, who will join Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie as possibly the best tandem of cornerbacks in the league, set their sites on an AFC championship and a Superbowl title.30: Detroit Lions: The Lions moved up into the 1st round from the 2nd round, 2nd pick to grab Jahvid Best. After Kevin Smith, the Lions RB, had a severe knee injury last year, they needed a rb. Jahvid Best is a RB out of the Cal Bears and largely known for his leap into the endzone where he was knocked unconscious.

Said to be as good as C.J. Spiller, only durability concerns lowered his draft stock to the end of the 1st round. The lions either hit a home run or struck out with this pick.31: Indy Colts: Jerry Hughes was meant for the Colts. He is an undersize outside lineback who has a non-stop motor, lots of tools in his arsenal to get at the quarterback, and he is quick. At 31, this is a great pick and another example of why the Colts are the Colts.

They simply can draft the best players at any point in the draft.32: New Orleans Saints: Patrick Robinson. This is a project pick for the Saints. Robinson possess a lot of the skills needed to be an elite cornerback in the league, but he needs to be groomed to sustain a motor and develop the vision to anticipate the play before it happens.

The first round of the NFL draft went pretty much how everyone thought it would go; until the third pick. After Bradford, Suh, and McCoy, the fourth pick caught a lot of people by surprise. The first half of the first round of the draft was fairly uneventful, the first few picks were pretty well predicted. The second half of the first round got a bit more interesting. As a New England Patriots fan, my first thought was "here we go again" when they started trading picks, and was left scratching my head when they picked Rutgers cornerback Devin McCourty.

Sports talk radio has been debating this pick ever since, and no one seems to have a good answer. The Patriots have three picks in the second round of the NFL draft, so hopefully they will come through and pick up some players to fill their gaping needs.

The 2010 NFL Draft has been a very solid draft for primetime action. Tim Tebow highlighted the first round. Do not underestimate him, he is a winner, hard worker and a good teammate. It proves when he is paying for a hotel in Denver so he can talk with the coaches about the playbook already.

Such a deep, talented draft with a weak quarterback postion has caused quaterbacks slipping. Although I am not surprised at all, the Cleveland Browns got a present that fell into their laps with the number 85th pick of Colt McCoy. With lots of talented defensive players and offensive lineman this draft has been unpredicatable and entertaining.

The Pics are looking very Wonderful and amazing. Ilike all the Pics and NFL. Muscle Max XL.

I wouldn't underestimate Tebow. I am very surprised Denver took him, but i'm not at all surprised someone took him. He is one guy you do not want to underestimate, and anybody who's somebody knows it.

Give him a chance, he's a franchise player, he's gonna give his 100% to whoever picks him. He's not a super start that's gonna pout and not play because they got drafted by a team they didn't want to be on. He's got other skills that are priceless and that the league needs.

Like leadership. I don't think he'll let Denver down. If you don't want him, I'd like to have him in Tampa or Jax.

=).

Being from Denver, I'm really unhappy about this! I don't want a FOURTH quarterback on my team when we still don't have anyone who can start as a really solid center. The Denver Post has published some articles about Tebow that are starting to get me used to the idea of having him on the Broncos team, even though I still think he's really overrated, but not as a first round pick.

The team had other, more pressing needs. I don't know what Josh McDaniels is thinking, but he's going to be a mighty unpopular guy in Denver really soon if the team crashes and burns this year because of the weaknesses in our lineup he failed to address during the draft, in favor of picking up a hotshot kid who isn't ready to start as an NFL quarterback. Broncos fans are sick of being a national laughingstock after EVERY draft.

Its a bad day in Broncoland! I have said all along that Tebow is not an NFL QB.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
