That is all going to depend on the chain. If it is a small local store that is independent, one might start out at minimum wage. A store that has a few chains might start out closer to $8.

Very large national chains might start out closer to $9. Keep in mind that the larger the chain, the more likely that you will also have decent benefits that will start after 90 days as well. Even if they start out less than a smaller chain (in some cases), it might be worth the benefits.
