What does T Minus Mean?

T-minus refers to a countdown method used by NASA and the military. It translates to time minus. For example, when a shuttle is getting ready for liftoff, it will be lifting off at a specific time.

If that time is 30 seconds away, they will say "T-minus 30 seconds.
